For over 800 years, Kufstein Fortress has been visited time and again by all kinds of people. In the early centuries, these were mostly enemy armies trying to conquer it. Today, this impressive landmark is hugely popular with visitors from all over the world. Many centuries later, we now offer an exciting and varied programme for guests of all ages. The range of experiences includes guided tours, visits to our museums and exhibitions, and even a traditional “lord of the castle” dinner at the fortress restaurant.

The Fortress Combo Ticket includes

Ascent and descent with the panoramic cable railway
Admission and individual visit to the local history museum (except during the winter months)
Visit to the museum in the former state prison
Visit to the Tyrolean Imperial Infantry and the Kufstein Rifle Guild Museum, as well as the Hero’s Organ pipes in the Citizens’ Tower
Admission to the new exhibitions: "Emperor Maximilian and His Time", "Bavaria–Tyrol: A Turbulent Relationship", and "Knights and Mercenaries"
Access to the entire open-air area including the deep well, rock passage, utility and herb gardens, and the Elisabeth Battery featuring a cannon collection from the Museum of Military History in Vienna

Please note

Different admission prices apply during the Knights' Festival at Pentecost.
Children up to the age of 5 – free admission!
A valid international student ID is required for student discounts.
The midday Hero’s Organ performance is included in the admission fee for Kufstein Fortress.
The local history museum is closed during the winter months for climate control reasons and to protect the exhibits.
Group registration is generally not required for individual, self-guided visits to Kufstein Fortress. However, we are happy to organize special arrangements (guided tours, special visits, lunch offers, etc.) upon request.
Please note that Kufstein Fortress is only partially accessible. Due to its historic structure, some areas of the fortress cannot be reached by wheelchair.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire open-air fortress grounds.
