For over 800 years, Kufstein Fortress has been visited time and again by all kinds of people. In the early centuries, these were mostly enemy armies trying to conquer it. Today, this impressive landmark is hugely popular with visitors from all over the world. Many centuries later, we now offer an exciting and varied programme for guests of all ages. The range of experiences includes guided tours, visits to our museums and exhibitions, and even a traditional “lord of the castle” dinner at the fortress restaurant.

  • checkThe midday Hero’s Organ performance is included in the admission fee for Kufstein Fortress.

  • checkThe local history museum is closed during the winter months for climate control reasons and to protect the exhibits.

  • checkGroup registration is generally not required for individual, self-guided visits to Kufstein Fortress. However, we are happy to organize special arrangements (guided tours, special visits, lunch offers, etc.) upon request.

  • checkPlease note that Kufstein Fortress is only partially accessible. Due to its historic structure, some areas of the fortress cannot be reached by wheelchair.
