The practically free-standing summit of the Hohe Salve is well-known for its dreamy 360° views . From the revolving panorama platform you get to enjoy views to over 70 three-thousand metre mountains. It is possible to reach the summit of the Hohe Salve without a great deal of effort by taking the cable cars. The Salvenkirchlein, Austria’s highest lying pilgrimage church is an ideal starting point for lovely hikes. The Kleine Salve provides a recreation destination, with unbelievable views, along with a relaxation oasis at the crystal-clear mountain lake beneath the summit.

The Hohe Salve

Tyrol's loveliest viewing mountain

With a summit at 1829m, the Hohe Salve is a very well-connected sports and action mountain. Its free-standing location provides unique views to the Kitzbühel Alps and the Zillertal Alps, as well as the Wilder Kaiser massif and the Hohe Tauern. The Salvenkirchlein is the highest place of worship in Austria and is an ideal starting point for leisurely hikes. On the Sonnenuhrenweg 12 sundial stations have been set up, revealing secrets about the sun, wind and weather and explaining the history of time measurement.

Hiking paradise Kleine Salve

Even the journey on the panorama gondola from Itter valley station to the summit of the Kleine Salve provides wonderful views to the Wilder Kaiser and the surrounding valleys. Once you get to the top, the extensive circular area enables you to take in the 360° panorama and extensive views.
Beneath the summit of the Kleine Salve is a crystal-clear mountain lake which provides a place of rest and relaxation. From the Kleine Salve there are hiking options available to all four points of the compass, for beginners and those at an advanced level alike - there is a hike to suit everyone.
