Markbachjoch

Sculpture park on the Markbachjoch with 30 state-of-the-art exhibits at Mittermoos mountain lake. As part of the event series ‘Kunst am Berg’, every year 3 new sculptures are installed in the park - a total of 30 sculptures by international artists can be viewed. The park is set in a lovely location at the mountain lake and is easily accessible from the mountain station for the Markbachjoch gondola. For those who are walking, you will need around half an hour to get from the mountain station to the mountain lake.

Enjoy pure relaxation and the loveliest views to the Wildschönau mountains from the hammock park. The hammock stations are located close to the Markbachjochbahn, at the mountain lake beneath the Kasalm and up from Foisching snack station. Hammocks can be hired from individual hire points or from Sport Blachfelder in Niederau.

A real dream! The sky above Niederau is regularly dotted with colourful paragliders. The Wildschönau is one of the best known regions in Tyrol for flying sports. Paragliders will feel especially great here, since the high valley is well protected from strong winds. The starting and landing areas for paragliders are located right next to the mountain and valley station for the Markbachjochbahn.
