Going - Astberg Pony Alm

From the Astberg at 1,175 m, an impressive view unfolds, stretching from the mountains Wilder Kaiser over the Kitzbüheler Horn to the Großglockner – an extraordinary panorama. The ride up is relaxed, via the Astbergbahn chairlift. Once at the top, the Astbergsee lake on the plateau offers great place to enjoy the peace and quiet. On clear summer days, the water’s surface glitters in the sunlight, whilst the silhouette of the Wilder Kaiser reflection is mirrored in it. From the ‘Kaiserkino’ viewing platform, with its comfortable wooden loungers, you can gaze upon the Kaiser Mountains. Around the Astberg, paths lead to hikes along the mountain or back down into the valley to Going.

A special highlight of the Astberg is the Ponyalm, home to 27 ponies, including foals. Visitors can lead the ponies themselves on a short walk along the mountain – an unforgettable experience for children and parents alike.
